Here we are again at Sydney Airport in front of a new "Departures" sign,
on our way to Europe. This time to the Netherlands, Italy and Portugal.
This is the route we took on the trip over almost 40 days during October and November where we also met up with our friends from Kiama, Carol and John. This was supposed to be the end of the tourist season, but hoards of tourists apparently did not know that, and so we encountered our fair share of them during our travels.
We flew British Airways which meant flying into London with a stopover in Singapore before flying to Amsterdam to actually start our journey. We also flew out of Lisbon back to London before transferring to another plane to fly back to Sydney - a total of 26 hours in transit!! One thing that amazed us was that almost half of the plane was configured for business class - obviously there is a strong demand (and money) for more comfort on these long flights.
